Meetings were expected to begin Monday in Des Moines about consolidating ad production throughout Gannett. The meeting is scheduled to wrap up today.
The company is expected to follow a transition similar to what led to the Gannett Regional Toning Centers toning photos for the newspapers. Austin Ryan, who is Gannett's vice president of production and led the transition to RTC, was scheduled to attend this meeting.
Ryan leads Gannett's press plant consolidations and was the vice president of production at The Des Moines Register from 1993-2004, according to this LinkedIn profile. In 2008, Ryan was named Gannett's corporate staffer of the year at the company's annual employee awards ceremony.
An ad production employee and an I.T. representative from each of Gannett's four newspaper groups is also expected to be in attendance.
