Surprised no one has replied to any of these posts. You do know
the rest of the Gannett papers are following this protocol. Past artists
are sitting and waiting for emails, receiving phone calls from customers
who are ticked and past artists are sending instructions on how to build
their customers ads. Word has it that the GPC has quotas that have to be
met each and every day. God bless the sales people and the advertisers
because no one is going to hold their hands. What you see is what you
get! Your ad is now far, far away from home. This is the saddest thing
I have seen in all my years of Gannett. Bottom line — advertisers — Gannett
doesn't give a crap about your ads. If they did, they would never of sent
your ads away from their local artists. I say this with a very heavy heart.
I have grown to care for these local advertisers. I have felt their pain over
lost sales and a bad economy. I actually feel elated when I produce a positive
ad for them and it works — but no longer. Gannett has shown the local advertiser
that their ad doesn't matter any longer. They are willing to send it to India or
to a Gannett sweat shop that doesn't care if you are in Indy or West Virginia. Your ad will get the five minute treatment like all the other hundreds of ads. They took the local out of local advertising and they have proved once again that no one at Gannett gives a rats ass about the local advertisers or the employees of Gannett. Craig, better watch that bonus coming, because I will let your customers know what Gannett is doing to them. Facebook, Twitter, all works for us too. Your bottom line and revenue will drop because of your greed. This is not the end of this. The news media, what is left of it will report on your greed practices. Did you really think we would just stand by and allow you to exploit your employees and your advertisers? Funny, but it appears the artist care more about the advertisers than all mightly Gannett! You are screwed — get used to it. It's a long trip to the unemployment line Craig — and believe me, you will be there. All in due time my friend, all in due time
