Yeah, that trashy InTake really was the beginning of the end.

I used to work at The Star, and every time I'm in town now I make sure to pick up a copy.

Makes me sad. I remember when it was a quality paper with a quality staff.

Now half the staff is gone, and the ones who are left are being beat with an Information Center stick.

Get out when you can, folks.

As one of those that produces the Indianapolis Star in the newsroom.. I agree. I was here before Gannett ruined the paper. It might not of been the best in the country, but at least there was something to read in it.

When I was growing up, the Indy Star had such diversity of content. It was a nice, thick newspaper that was a pleasure to read. After the Pulliam family sold it to Gannett, it was gutted and made ugly. My parents still subscribe to the Star, but they are highly disappointed with it these days.
If you ever want an idea of what the Star used to be like, pick up a copy of The (Columbus, Ohio) Dispatch. I hope the family that owns The Dispatch never sells out to a chain, especially Gannett.

For a metropolitan city with over 1 million, the Indianapolis Star looks like a small town newspaper
