Finance, purchasing, IT, building management and advertising have been hit. Some were let go as of yesterday or today and others are deferred in that they have been told that they will be leaving at some point within a month or two. Traditional severance has been replaced by sub-pay.

Thanks for the update. Please continue to fill us in on anything related to this.

Remember, Detroit is not part of the Community Publishing papers and does not count toward Bob Dickey's 1,400 estimate for this company-wide round of layoffs. On this site, the layoffs are tracked since we are counting all, but if you're adding up to the 1,400, this is part of the overall count total.

Another round of layoffs began today on the Partnership side in Detroit. No word on numbers yet or whether the News and Freep will be hit, too.
