LAYOFFS ARE BACK!! WOOHOO!!
Layoffs are back! We lost a new hire today, he'd been here 2 weeks and Gannett decided that we needed less people to do our jobs - they obviously know more about how to run our paper than we do. So yay, we were making money for Gannett, but now with this new layoff, it'll be even harder to keep doing so. Yay! Awesome management. How about assessing the companies you own on a case by case basis rather than slashing everyone by some arbitrary percentage? That way, the companies that are making money for Gannett can continue to make money for Gannett unabated and you can focus your energies on the companies who AREN'T making money for Gannett. I imagine you already know this because you seem to know everything (including how to run small profit-turning companies into the ground), but in case you fired the guy who figures these things out for you, please feel free to take my advice at no charge.
