Whoops. Got that wrong. Somehow they managed to eek out a profit. Lots of profit reports from the second quarter from other industries. Is it a sign the economy is turning around?

"McClatchy has laid off 15 percent of its workforce, or 1,600 employees, this year. It also has cut executive pay and other benefits."

Have I missed information regarding cuts in executive pay at Gannett? This seems to be a common option for companies facing financial difficulties, and I wonder if Gannett has or is considering the same.
