Jobless Benefits Ending
About one million laid-off workers will see their unemployment benefits end in January unless Congress acts to renew existing federally paid extensions, according to a new survey and legislators and state officials.
The record extension of emergency benefits that was signed into law on Nov. 6 was built on a series of previous extensions that are slated to end on Dec. 31. People who lost their jobs after July 1 would receive no federal extensions once their customary six months of state aid ran out. Renewing
all federally paid extended benefits for 2010 would cost about $80 billion, said Rep. Jim McDermott, D-Wash. (NYT)

I know it is not a union shop but police and the federal government should investigate the rehiring and termination layoff/process that took place at The Journal News in August during the restructure. It was all about favoritism and who management wanted especially with Jandel VP of Advertising making the decisions. She had only been at the paper for a few months there is no way for her to make an informed decision concerning staff. Her decisions were made on quick impressions and who she thought she would like. Time on the job, time in the industry, level of success and experience played no part in her decision. It is such a shame the damage she has done is not fixable, many of the reps who left have now gone to various competition in the area and taken the ad business with them.
Mike F. if you read this blog stand up and take control- HF, LB, LN, CR, SG, BG, JH are ruining what is left of a once great paper. You cannot say that revenues are better now than before the restructure. The only thing the restructure did was make TJN's books look better because payroll and benefit expenses are so low. Look at the books I bet ad sales are the same and probably lower than before the restructure- sad especially during the critical 4th quarter.
Mike F stand up and take control please do not be misled- return the paper to greatness- You need the hardworkers that TJN once had back - DO NOT BE FOOLED BY YOUR VP's and UPPER MANAGEMENT!!!!!
Part of TJN's problems are the industry and economy but part of it is it's own ineffective upper management. Mike F if you step up TJN can again be a force in the community in spite of the industry and economy

I was there in August, and we did not have 60 days' notice. More like one month per a memo in July.

09I think it Los Angeles Escort considers American Los Angeles Escorts piopulation Los Angeles Asian Escort only (Except Asian counries of course) as most young girls in America are crazy about their chastity.
I know one girl who was dating Los Angeles Asian Escorts
with her boyfriend about 5 years but they did not have sex and she is still virgin.
